CONTINUATION: SYSTEMATIC LAND TITLING REGISTRATION (SLTR), A SUCCESSFUL PRODUCT OF GIZ INTERVENTION IN PLATEAU STATE



Earlier in this platform, we brought you a report that the Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammernarbeit, known also as the German Development Agency, GIZ in short, has been working relentlessly to improve the business environment of Plateau State, located in the North Central part of Nigeria. This area is also referred to as the Middle Belt. 

In that report we noted in particular the efforts of the GIZ at overcoming the cumbersome processes and procedures associated with Land Registration at the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Plateau State. In this publication, we present to you, our esteemed reader the follow up to that publication. It is indeed one of the numerous heartwarming successes of the GIZ interventions in Plateau State. The expected impact of this product to the development of MSMEs in the state and Nigeria generally, especially when the GIZ interventions in Plateau State is wide spread and targeted at specifically at removing the constraints and bottlenecks that hinder smooth running of businesses, and serving as serious impediment to effective management of the private sector activities of the economy.

N1000 AND N500 OLD CURRENCY NOTES BACK TO THE MARKET

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr.  Godwin Emefiele on Sunday, 12th March, 2023, directed the Commercial banks in Nigeria to dispense old currency notes and to also receive same as deposits from customers. 

The directive was given at a Bankers’ Committee meeting held on Sunday, 12th March, 2023. Following this development, residents of the 36 states and Abuja, are to take note, and equally bear in mind that there is no limit to the number of times that an individual, group or company can make deposits, with regard to this latest development.
