NIGERIA, WE ARE BLEEDING IN SILENCE

Read this and tell me Nigeria is fine.

A Nation That No Longer Hides Its Pain

Just a flickering light

By Patience Gabriel Gutus

Nigeria is not just failing…

Nigeria is hurting her own people.

A place where dreams die before they even start breathing.

Mothers now pray just for their children to come back home alive… not successful, just alive.

There was a time bandits used to cover their faces.

When Democracy Lost Its Voice

By: Patience Gabriel Gutus

Nigeria is bleeding silently.

Not just from hunger, hardship, banditry, and insecurity, but from betrayal.

They told us democracy means government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

They told us primary elections were the only chance for citizens to choose those who would represent them in the general elections.

But today, democracy has lost its voice, and power has taken its place.

People stand for hours under the scorching sun just to vote.

Some travel from far villages, spending the little transport money they struggled to get.

They leave their homes with hope, believing their voices matter.

PLATEAU STATE IS BLEEDING: HOW MANY MORE MUST DIE BEFORE ACTION IS TAKEN?

Victim of an attack in Plateau state

BY PATIENCE GABRIEL GUTUS

The continuous killings in Bokkos, Riyom, Bassa, Barkin Ladi, and Mangu Local Government Areas (LGAs) have left a painful scar on the soul of Plateau State. Day after day, innocent lives are cut short, families are torn apart, communities are destroyed, and the cries of helpless people continue to echo across our land.

Children who should be enjoying the warmth of a family now wake up as orphans. Women who once had loving husbands now carry the painful burden of widowhood. Elderly parents are left to bury their children, while countless families have been forced to flee their ancestral homes, uncertain of where their next meal or shelter will come from.
