Bitrus B Kaze who represented the good people of Jos South and Jos East Federal Constituency of Plateau State, at the Federal House of representative in Nigeria between 2007 and 2011 and 2011 and 2015, a period of 8 legislative years as federal legislator at the National Assembly has identified tourism development in Plateau state as one sure way of generating employment for the teeming youths of the state.

THE EVOLUTION OF TRADITIONAL IGBO HAIRSTYLES ACROSS THE ERAS

ABSTRACT

The Igbo people of Nigeria are known for their rich culture and traditions and their hairstyles are no exception. Their hairstyles remind people of their cultural identity, the expression of beauty through their hairstyles has been a long-standing signature of Igbo culture, they see their hair as their glory and it is expected to be given great attention. This paper intends to espouse the significances of traditional hairstyles, historical background of the traditional hairstyles, fascinating history of traditional Igbo hairstyles across three eras and the different hairstyles adorned by Igbo women. This is a qualitative research that adopted the use of past literatures, observations, case studies and photographs to collect data with a view to highlight the traditional Igbo hairstyles as a means of identification. This paper will be beneficial to the Igbo culture.

Traditional architecture, in particular, serves as a bridge between the past and the present, preserving the identity of a community and providing a glimpse into its history. In the case of Igbo traditional architecture, its significance lies not only in its aesthetic appeal but also in its embodiment of Igbo cultural values, social structures, and religious beliefs. This paper will explore the importance of Igbo traditional architecture, its key characteristics, and how it has evolved over time.

NIGERIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY PROVIDES 900 HOUSEHOLDS IN BARKIN LADI AND BOKKOS LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS (LGAs), PLATEAU STATE WITH RELIEVE MATERIALS


It was jollification galore, a moment of relieve and comfort, as excitement, happiness and joy rented the air at Barkin Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas (LGAs), Plateau State when the Nigerian Red Cross Society whose mandate is the alleviation of human suffering, provided through support and funding from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), food and non-food items to 900 households in two distribution exercises the Society conducted recently at Barkin Ladi and Bokkos LGAs, Plateau State respectively for the benefit of the internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
