COLLECTION OF NATIONAL SKILLS QUALIFICATION CERTIFICATE BY THE PIONEER SET OF AFRICAN FILM INSTITUTE FOR THE SKILLS ACQUISITION TRAINING IN JOS, PLATEAU STATE

The Archimedes Entrepreneurs of the emerging Creative Industry in Nigeria has been released by the African Film Institute (AFI) in Jos, Plateau State...  

Collection of National Skills Qualification Certificate of the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) by the Pioneer Set of the African Film Institute (AFI) trained  participants has commenced in Jos, Capital of Plateau State, North Central Nigeria. 

The Skill Acquisition Training conducted in Jos is implemented by the African Film Institute and organized by the Federal Government of Nigeria via the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) in collaboration with the World Bank, under the Innovative Development for Effectiveness in Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS), Programme.

Commencement of certificate collection by the graduands of the IDEAS and TVET Programme marks the completion of the 2025/2026 first cohort: maiden Edition of the AFI participation in the Programme  in Nigeria. 

Recall that Scoreline sometime in the past reported that the African Film Institute in its determination to expand the Manpower base in Filmmaking in Plateau State, and by extension North Central Zone, and Nigeria generally, decided to conduct a Skills Acquisition Training in Filmmaking and Creative Media Production in Jos. 

The National Skills Qualifications training is one arm of the AFI Skills Acquisition training. The Certificate is awarded by the NABTEB. At least 300 trainees out of the nearly 500 participants of the AFI Skills Acquisition training conducted in Creative Media Production qualified for the NABTEB Certificate.

The second arm of the AFI conducted Skills Acquisition training is in the area of Filmmaking. This class of the AFI trained Graduands will be receiving in addition to the National Skills Qualification Certificate awarded by the NABTEB, the African Film Institute's certification for Filmmaking.

This Archimedes Entrepreneurs that the AFI prepared are poised to impact the emerging Cultural and Creative Industry in Nigeria and the global film industry in diverse ways.

Coming from Plateau state, the centre of capacity building in Filmmaking in Nigeria, the two sets of AFI trained Film industry entrepreneurs are special, considering in particular, scope, content and the depth of coverage in both the theory and practice by them during their training period with the institute. 

With some of them now armed with the National Skills Qualification Certificate and the others the soon to be issued AFI Certificate, this team of entrepreneurs is effectively positioned to  impact the emerging Cultural and Creative Industry in Nigeria positively, aware that they are saddled with the arduous task required to create a fundamental shift, necessary to open up the Nigeria's economy for massive job Creation, Wealt Generation activities and lucrative Employment for the willing and skillful in the country.
