TOWARDS ACCESSIBILITY AND INDEPENDENT VOTING PROCESS BY THR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Let me start this piece with a charge that the enthusiasm of the vibrant young and old, male and female and as a matter of fact, large number of unemployed Persons-With-Disabilities: PWDs, resident in Plateau State, Nigeria, particularly those of voting age, should not be dampened by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), by not supporting extensively their envisaged massive outing in the Governorship and states Assembly elections taking place today march 18th, 2023, after the postponement of the election from March 11th, 2023 to today.

INEC in view of the above, must by all reasonable means strengthen the resolve, commitment and will of the PWDs to make their unflinching decision to participate very actively in today's Gubernatorial and States Assembly elections, a reality.

EXPLORING VIRTUAL PLATFORM FOR MUSEUM EXHIBITION IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Traditional art appreciation has been elusive and exclusive and often expensive. It requires some planning and organizational efforts and often involves travel. The same can be said about visiting a major natural history or science museum. Afterwards museum goers would often encounter long queues, crowded alley and rooms and unsympathetic guides.  Too often they may have a few seconds per exhibit and even fail to see what they had anticipated most.  Besides these difficulties for the public, this model actually contradicts the museums aims to disseminate knowledge and art to as many people as possible.

Virtual realities can eliminate these problems and take museum mission to a new level.  The medium is praised for its ability to recreate spaces, remote destinations or places that no longer exit and to transport viewers by just strapping or a V. R (Virtues Reality) headset.  This is why even people with mobility issues can nowadays access the world's best collection without leaving home.

THEY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO CREATE INDELIBLE MARKS, THEY NEED SUPPORT

Have you made your children, I don't mean your biological children only, instead I am referring to those Children that flock around you and your friends, including the distant ones, and the vulnerable even. Hope you are also making provision for the stubborn ones in your vicinity too? Remind them very often that unflinching desire and excessive attention on money making, without proper/adequate preparation is injurious...

Bring them up in the way they should go, when they grow up they will not depart from it. Among the areas to focus their attention is skill acquisition. Create opportunities that will enable them to hone their God given talents, begin to develop and showcase such as skill very early in life. Provide them also with the appropriate insight about human behavior, relationship building and teamwork, and the challenges of course. Expose them to thought provoking encounters and make them to understand early in life that real happiness is helping others. Use this to shape their vision of life, especially, their knowledge and understanding of what constitutes needs, goals and values.
