If because you went to a University, Polytechnic or College of Education and acquired certificates, and/or other recognitions, professionally or otherwise and you think that such empowered you to discountenance and rubbish the efforts and contributions of the people of old, the ones you refer to as uneducated, illiterates and local people, time has come for you to apply the brakes.

THE YWOM PEOPLE OF GARKAWA AND THE ANNUAL RHE-YWOM FESTIVAL

The Ywom people of Garkawa are blessed with several festivals and as a matter of fact celebrated for their peaceful and humane dispositions at all times. Indeed the entire Garkawa people are respected for their commitment and deep interest for humanity. They are admired for valuing their culture among which is the Rhe-Ywom festival celebrated annually every last Saturday of the year. Apart from the Rhe-Ywom, they have festivals for ushering in the planting and harvesting seasons which they celebrate with pride and fanfare.

Otampa is one Community that is amazingly blessed with heritage and culture. The community is well-endowed in tangible and intangible heritage and culture, which presents huge opportunity for both the young and old in the community to tap into. This requires that they network and through creativity and innovation diversify efforts; build their skills, contact and relationships within and outside the community, and essentially raise sustainable structures necessary to tap into the area to take advantages of the opportunities that abound.
