Plateau United who took the lead via a well taken shot by Kelechi John, in the 49th minute, but could not hold on to the lead, as they allowed Akwa United who came on strongly after the goal to equalize, through a goal by Friday Ubong in the 74th minute. The equalizer was the result of a pull out that goal keeper Danladi Isah of Plateau United, misjudged and the ball went into the net.

Soon after the goal was scored, the game almost lost the steam that was witnessed in the early minutes of the game. However, some individual efforts from both sides, from time to time was the only thing the spectators, mostly fans of both sides could rely on for quite sometime.

FRANCE VS PORTUGAL - SOMETHING AROUND THIS FINAL, THE TRUTH THAT YOU MUST KNOW

COPIED

Special message to friends and loved ones on Euro 2016 final!
Dear Friends,
Today is the Euro cup final between France and Portugal. I'm sure a lot of you will watch the game.  I will definitely do the same, but I'd like to share something around this final game. When it is on, take a look at the players, the referees, the linesmen and the spectators.

Out of all these category of people, the only people who don't wear a wrist watch are the players on the field. They get into the pitch and play their hearts out knowing that even though they don't know the exact time, the exact minute the game will end and the whistle will be blown, they are conscious of the fact that the game will definitely end when the one holding the time blows his whistle.

BREAKING NEWS!!! EFCC ARRESTS OBASANJO AND FORMER PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN BOTH TO FACE TRIAL NEXT WEEK MONDAY.

By Okeoma Elvis Okeoma

There was a mild drama at the Murtala Mohammed international Airport today when DSS and EFCC officers arrested former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his way out of the country.

The former President who was said to be dressed in a white Agbada with black shoes was arrested by DSS & handcuffed the moment he arrived at the airport this afternoon. As at the time of filling this report, former President Goodluck Jonathan was also said to have been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja by the DSS on arrival from a foreign trip where he held a world press conference yesterday.

The main reason for the arrest of these two prominent politicians is yet to be known, but our source has it that EFCC and ICPC had sent different letters of invitation to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan due to allegations which were leveled against them but they refused to yield to their requests.

APC VS APC - COURT STRIKES OUT BABA HASSAN’S PRELIMINARY OBJECTION, ORDERS PARTIES TO INVITE ORAL EVIDENCE

By Nnabugwu Chizoba

Justice Musa Kuray of the Federal High Court, sitting in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, has Friday, 6th July, 2016 ordered parties involved in the suit, No. FHC/J/CS/20/2015 to call oral evidence to prove their case.

Ruling on the Preliminary Objection filed by Baba Hassan, through his Council, Solomon Umoh, SAN, the court struck out the Objection for being premature, as it ventured into the facts of the case.

Hon. Justice Kuray, held that the matter, an Originating summon has become contentious and conflicting, with a lot of documents, affidavits, further better affidavit and Newspaper publications. On the strength of this, therefore, he ruled that the “Parties in the matter are to call oral evidence to prove their case”.

The matter, earlier fixed for 6th July, 2016 for ruling by the court, could however not hold because the court did not sit due to the public Holiday declared by the Federal government of Nigeria, to mark the Salah festival.  Following this ruling, the court adjourned the matter to 11th October, 2016, for hearing.

THE NEED TO RE-STRATEGIZE AND RE-POSITION ANAN IN THE GLOBAL MARKET

By Nnabugwu Chizoba

The financial and economic crisis in the globe, that came to a climax in 2008 and the uncertain path to recovery is a by-product of years of unrestrained sharp economic practices, improper business operations and worst of all, the undermining of accounting systems, amidst under valuing of natural capital (all natural assets both produced or non-produced, economic or environmental).

The modern economic crisis is not attributable to Euro-zone countries alone because of the universality of the instruments of performance measurement and the principles of consumption and growth.

The World Bank and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), recently concluded that the stage of development in the industrialized world had accentuated the lowering of environmental harmony, thereby accelerating the growth of dirty industrial output, depleted natural assets and over-exploiting of the system that powers nature.
