TEXT OF THE BROADCAST BY HIS EXCELLENCY, DR. PETER MBAH, GOVERNOR OF ENUGU STATE, ON THE OFFICIAL COMMENCEMENT OF ENUGU’S TRANSITION TO SMART GREEN SCHOOLS, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2025

Tomorrow Is Here: Education is The Cornerstone of a New Society

Enugu Smart Schools: Turning Aspiration into Reality

Ndi Enugu,

I bring you very warm greetings this morning, a day we usher in a new epoch in the history of our dear state, and in the life of our children. It’s a day of celebration as much as for introspection.

Africa today is the youngest continent in the world. More than 60% of our people are under the age of 25. By 2050, our population will reach 2.5 billion, and one in every three young people on earth will be an African. This is a stark reminder that our future will be built by young hands.

THE IGBOS WERE NEVER KINGDO: Reclaiming a Republican Legacy - EK Gwuru, Ph.D

 COPIED

Among the peoples of Africa, the Igbo of Southeast Nigeria stand apart for their unique political philosophy. For centuries, the Igbo thrived without kings or centralized monarchies. We built a society in which every village was autonomous, every adult man had a voice, and authority flowed upward from the people, not downward from a throne. We gave the world republican democracy long before Athen knew what republic means.

POSITIVE ACTION, YOUR PIVOT TO SUCCESS

Positive action by a woman Group

The key to success is action. This is a common or popular maxim. But, in this piece, I beg to differ in a way with this Maxim, and on the strength of it, make a little adjustment to it.
